Thursday, August 6, 2026 – 7:55 a.m.

Several CTAL members in L’Ascension are still without service following the heavy rainfall that damaged various infrastructure in the area.

Before our teams can begin repairs to the network, Hydro-Québec and other telecommunications providers must complete certain work to secure the site and restore the necessary infrastructure. The teams involved are working together to move the work forward as quickly as possible. We remain in close contact with the various partners and emergency services to closely monitor the situation.

Our teams have also assessed the possibility of establishing a temporary connection to reduce the duration of the outage. However, current conditions do not allow any temporary solution to be deployed safely.

Please rest assured that our teams will intervene as soon as the infrastructure is accessible and conditions allow the work to be carried out safely.

Under the circumstances, we wish to express our full solidarity with the L’Ascension community.

We will publish another update as soon as more information becomes available regarding the progress of the work.

Wednesday, August 5, 2026 – 4:10 p.m.

No estimated restoration time can be confirmed at this time. A new update will be published as soon as we have more information on the progress of the work.

CTAL remains in solidarity with the L’Ascension community under the circumstances.

Tuesday, August 4, 2026 – 9:30 a.m.

Following the heavy rainfall in the area, the Municipality of L’Ascension declared a state of emergency. Sections of roads were washed away, along with several utility poles, which also damaged telecommunications infrastructure in certain areas.

Several dozen CTAL members are currently without service. Due to the extent of the damage and limited road access, no estimated restoration time can be confirmed at this time.

Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and will be able to intervene once the affected areas are safe and accessible.

Under the circumstances, CTAL wishes to express its full solidarity with the L’Ascension community.

An update will be published as soon as more information becomes available.
